Abstract
Cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) can present as ventricular tachycardia (VT) and cardiac arrest. Management of VT in CS is difficult and includes disease-specific agents, such as steroids, antiarrhythmic drugs (AADs), and implantation of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). With the advent of ICD technology in recent decades, patients with inherited or congenital cardiomyopathy have a greater chance of survival into adulthood. Women with ICDs in this group are now more likely to reach reproductive age. We report a case of a 24-year-old Primi, known case of CS with recurrent VT managed with ICD, immunosuppressants and steroids. Five months later, the patient became pregnant. A multidisciplinary approach was sought throughout her pregnancy with contribution from a cardiologist and rheumatologist. Along with cardiologist team and anaesthetist team our patient delivered an alive female baby at 36 weeks. Regular follow-up and timely delivery made this high-risk pregnancy successful.
